MLB Needs To Go To Auto Balls and Strikes

So many games change on umpire calls. Home plate umps are worse now than ever. Watching the Angels/Astros…..Altuve is struck out, instead it’s a walk and the entire 9th inning and game is changed. It’s happening every day and they have to change it. These guys are so bad.

Agreed. Tennis too. Watching Wimbledon was painful when commentators kept saying if they would have challenged they would have gotten the call. Many times on key points too

Any sport that can keep the human element out of reffing or judging it should

MLB has the worst officials in all sports and that's why the league is a joke for being the only professional sports organization to allow these officials to make up their own rules from game to game (strike zone)

So yes going another route is long overdue

I couldn’t agree more l watch a lot of baseball and it’s getting ridiculous how these umpires miss balls and strike calls. Of course it seems the awful calls go against you rather than for you.

Absolutely spot on. They change games from wins to losses all the time. You can actually ruin a guys career with one bad call. One missed call could snowball into a 6 run inning and get a pitcher sent down or released.

The umpires, based on total # of calls, really don't miss that many.

Yes, there's clowns like Hernandez, who needs to be fired.

But if the instruction to the union is a true zone...if the league wasn't emphasizing runs over quality, then we'd have pure baseball.

Pure baseball is 1920s-1960 ; 1974-1993 baseball. That is what fans want.

We are given a product today that is trash. Half the MLB players wouldn't make a roster a generation ago because they are flawed, incurably, in some defect. Lineups are full of softball players, bullpen full of flame throwers.

There is no more "pitching" or "batting". There is only HR or KO. Defense is 2nd teir. Ozzie Smith wouldn't make a roster today.

And Noone can connect w these guys. Bunch of Latin thugs wearing chains making millions....no lunch pail players anymore...it's a lost generation of interest.

If MLB would do what hockey does....it'd be the greatest sport in the Western Hemisphere sill. I'm talking about keeping it real, keeping it local.

There could be 50 MLB teams if they'd reign in this union.
