Missed FG’s unreal NFL

What happened

the kickers use to be machines

now 50% extra points or regular fg’s

regression to mean. first few weeks 50+ was like 90 percent

Extra point misses are getting high too. WTH? Is the ball different? Did Goodell send a message to kickers to miss more often?

The extra points stopped being gimmes when they moved it back to being a 33 yard field goal. It used to be a 20 yard field goal and automatic. Nowadays I'd think seriously about going for two more often because you should have a play in your playbook that can score from 2 yards out. As for missing more regular field goals I'm not sure what's going on there but it's no longer automatic and the kicking game is so important in the NFL contrary to what people think about Field Goals.

I hated the idea of moving the extra pt back from day one. Eliminate the extra pt. Make tds 7 pts and move on. A 33 yd xp is ridiculous.

I like the idea of 2 point conversions only. That would play havoc with some spreads.

Different ball now factory sealed & delivered to umpires hotel room.

Used to be equipment guy could wet, scratch, fukk up the seams, etc days ahead of time.
Not anymore.
