Honestly- as a Minnesotian who worked and still has business in MPLS, who was educated at Macalester (hidden Ivy) under Mondale for one class...we need to have a discussion about the failure of education to delineate or deliver an intellectual learning program from an ideological program.
Somewhere between 2010 and today the education system in blue states has shifted to ideological studies and that, frankly, just isn't doing the Country any good.
Ideological studies become ideological policies and that ideology becomes the person, as in the program or policy is the actual person. Hence, when they fail, and MPLS has failed in governance & MN has failed in oversight, it becomes personal.
That is why all these protesters are butt hurt. They/ the ideology, has failed. That means they failed.
If we had intellectually honest education, students would become adults with a core understanding that, no matter what party affiliation, your policy MUST work, it must be fair, it must be governed with the expectation that the publics trust in you results in accountability if you fail.
That simply isn't taught or respected by the left these days, and Minneapolis will never recover from this. No more conventions, travel, corporate headquarters, out of state tuition, etc.
Minnesota is a square peg that won't fit in the circle opening, because it's simply too misguided to reel in the sharpe edges that run it.
