As corny as it sounds, the time I spent with the family, we are so spread out now and we rarely all get together anymore.
My daughter was in from collage, she is in law school and stays very busy of course, and my nephews, who are more like sons had time off work to come home!
My mom turned 83 this year and was glad that all of us could get together.

I hope your Christmas was very nice also! How about you, anything special this year!!

my christmas was pretty relaxed with my family. Sucks that I’ve been sick. But it's the same for us, we really were focusing on the family time. my dad has stage 4 cancer so every moment with the family is valued and cherished. no big gifts this year. one thing that i got for myself and my dad, i got us matching gold dragonflies. Long story short, when i was a little girl my dad would always bring home dead dragonflies he would find. I thought they were soooo cool. So gifting him this gold dragonfly made him a bit emotional.

Sorry to hear about your Dad! Cancer sucks! It effects almost every family in some way, my oldest nephew is doing cancer research, hopefully some day they will find a better way than we have now to fight it!
My nephew (the scientist/official title@ Salk was post PHD researcher) just finished up his work at The Salk Institute in San Diego, and got a resident job at Yale, we are very proud of him! Never would have thought that someone in my family would be working and teaching in the Ivey league. Half of his time at Yale will still be dedicated to research

its ok, its a part of life. cancer does indeed suck! your nephew is a big part of our future. wow, good for him, im super proud as well! it's always so impressive seeing all the brilliant minds out there. curious to see how his research journey will go
