Alcaraz already backing out of opening tournament in Australia, so potentially no prep matches before Aussie Open

my only issue is that Alcaraz isn't 35 years old and playing on tour forever. YES he's ranked #2 but he shouldn't be playing less tennis

ATP and WTA all expressing frustration with the different tennis balls at different tournaments. Many injuries due to this
re: Alcaraz - what if he's planning to be in top shape and win majors until mid-40s and? Maybe he's playing it strategically, then I'd understand skipping tournaments often, doing what Federer did last 2-3 years before retiring.

But in all honesty, Alcaraz is just probably hurt. Which sucks.

Current prices from @Bet365

-106 +225 +175 +125 Novak
+300 +150 +150 +162 Alcaraz
+600 +1000 +1000 +1000 Sinner
+800 +1000 +1200 +700 Evil Russian
+2000 +400 +1400 +1400 Rafa

I couldn't find any other prices at this time. BOL doesn't have any.

It's curious to me that Rafa is a lot more 'likely' to win in New York than Melbourne. And Sinner - the other way around. And Medvedev's chances are identical for either first or last Slam of 2024.

Opinions? I know I'm taking Alcaraz to win every single one of them.
Gotta be Sinner for value at those prices. Although my record at tennis betting is weak at best

A month later...

+225 +175 +125 Novak
+150 +150 +162 Alcaraz
+450 +333 +1000 Sinner
+1100 +1200 +700 Evil Russian
+400 +1400 +1400 Rafa

Sinner futures are the hot commodity. Nothing else really moved.

I don't think Sinner is ready to win just anywhere and anytime, as witnessed by what Medvedev was able to do in the AO final.

If anything, Medvedev's price should have gone down (not up!) for the French Open.

Thoughts?

Dec 19 to April 27... I think someone at bet365 gets fired if Sinners wins a Grand Slam. They must be carrying a biiig liability on him.

In the WTA, prices are almost identical for Madrid and Paris:

evens SWIATEK
+600 to +700 range: Sabalenka, Rybakina, Gauff

Remember when Iga Swiatek was in the -110 -105 range to win Roland Garros? She's very likely to have more 6-0 sets than lose sets in the tournament!

Sabalenka odds dropped to +450, Gauff and Rybakina are +800+1000
