The network sure is taking its time reporting penalties. I'm pretty sure that flag was thrown during the play but it was like over 10 seconds before they reported the flag. Hell, they even showed the Lions fans celebrating before they showed the penalty.

I've been seeing this in college games also. On the penalties for long plays in a college game the player scored and it was well over 10 seconds later that the network showed the penalty. I remember watching for the penalty to appear and thought it was a good score until way later.

This is the exact text I sent to my buddy on the long throw out of bounds. He’s heard me rant about McCarthy game management forever.

“what the hell is he thinking? Means Lions get ball with 1:40 instead of :57 seconds or less. Good old McCarthy.”

They already had the trophy presentation. And Miami was celebrating in the locker room when that flag was thrown
