Chiefs (-1.5) to cover the spread against the Eagles.
Early support favored the Chiefs capturing a third straight Super Bowl win. As of Jan. 27, Kansas City received 66% of bets placed and 72% of money wagered to cover the spread.
But after an initial wave of Chiefs bets and money, support throughout last week shifted in the Eagles’ direction.
As of Jan. 27, Philadelphia accumulated 54% of bets placed and 35% of money wagered to win outright. As of Feb. 7, the Eagles own 63% of bets placed and 60% of money wagered.
From a spread standpoint, the Eagles possess 48% of bets placed and 58% of money wagered, as of Feb. 7.
One place bettors agree: points will come in a hurry in Super Bowl 59.
The over/under opened at 48.5 points on Sunday night and bettors quickly bet it up to 49.5 points. As of Jan. 27, 88% of bets placed and 90% of money wagered falls on the over.
Some support for the under came throughout last week, but the over remains the popular market.
As of Jan. 31, the over percentages dropped from 88% of bets placed and 90% of money wagered to 76% and 70%, respectively.
As of Feb. 3, the over attracted 70% of bets placed and 64% of money wagered. Those percentages dropped steadily throughout the week with the over now accumulating 64% of bets and 55% of money, as of Feb. 7.
