That’s what I’m not getting - like I speculated earlier - sitting facing opposite the back row - makes sense - especially if you had a few. It’s very possible to just “fall off”.

It made sense if they were with their respective others and Elway driving that he would be on the back with his wife.

But ESPN story read like he was in right front next to Elway. Makes no sense.
There are a lot of golf carts used on regular roads getting around my town.

A lot of times I see them with multiple people on them, seemingly not paying attention.

And in Gruene there are many “four seaters” where two grown adults are facing the front and two grown adults are sitting in seats facing the other way. And they’re driving, or attempting to, right along with the traffic on the roads (granted it is 20 or 30 MPH speed limit in that community but you get the picture).

I absolutely hate those things - and e-bikes.

Same thing around me - small sub-division in the middle of the country surrounded by corn fields. Every other damn house has one and seemingly thinks they need to ride rather than walk anywhere.

People don't understand a few things about these - especially regarding their speed and ability to withstand a crash. Some of them can easily push 40 - and when even a small car hits one, it's going to cause ALOT of damage.

Why in the hell people think it's perfectly acceptable to let a kid drive one at night on a road is beyond me. This coming from a person who regularly road dirt bikes, 3 wheelers and mopeds on country roads for hours growing up - of course that was different as the traffic was ALOT less and we only did it during the day and knew damn sure to keep our eyes out for traffic (especially the occasional sheriff driving around as they would stop your ass/impound and sell ATV's and drag your ass to juvi court - they didn't play around and unsurprisingly many of the impounded ATVs found their way to a select few deputies possession).

Same thing I saw with SxS's - stupid ass people giving 13 year old kids the keys to an ATV with a bigger engine than a Geo back in the day with less weight - thing can easily do 80 and has off-road tires - yet they feel its fine to drive on pavement. The stopping ability is largely controlled by the surface you drive on - and knobby off-road tires SUCK on pavement. You literally are handing the keys to something with reduced stopping ability and shitty steering that does 80 to a child - but somehow these idiots think it's safe because they lived through it - no need to explain to them the huge difference between a 200cc speed limited Honda Big Red and a 1200cc turbo RzR.

Yes I could absolutely see someone driving hitting a bump or a hitting a curb accidentally, or even having to stop abruptly, and having the person riding in the back go tumbling off of the vehicle - and this time it looks like the deceased hit his head on the ground.

No charges for Elway

I’m sure he’d be facing years behind bars if his name was Joe Smith

Why? It was an accident, no one does time for that
