Here comes Syracuse, down to an 18 point game. I didn't hold for the final spurt. That's ok, it's more important to maintain discipline, Totals will help make up for the loss take, at least to an acceptable level. Such was the long and short of the hedge.

Amidst the Syracuse comeback I did manage to get back into +16.5 and +13.5.

May get some of this earlier loss back.

I will need the +13.5 to make it meaningful.

So it was frantic but with the Totals paying, and I was looking for the Syracuse push, which came late, so getting back in after being shaken out was a good move.

I basically broke even trading the first game noting that all of the bets made, the Syracuse spreads and Totals, were the winning bets. Also noting the expected Syracuse push, it was just stretched to very late, which was in the cards, but not likely enough to hold.

It's not often I get shaken out, just scroll back to the USC story a few posts back, but for this Monday, in this environment that's what was decided and discipline is important, from the beginning.

It's always a ride on the trading floor, lol.

Looks like the Kansas/TTech TOTALS have already swelled. May get out of this day with profit after all.

Solid play on Kansas spread for sure, that definitely puts the moneyline in the cards.

If it's the OVER like I'm thinking, I like Kansas' chance here.

...they may not be a bad pregame bet at +12 or so but I'm not talking about that line here.

I've also put in orders for OVER 148.5 and 151.5 for NC and Syracuse.

How do you become a market maker?

Limit orders. By providing limit orders on the book you are creating liqhidity. You are MAKING liquidity.

By just buying whats immediately offerd, you are TAKING liquidity from the market.

Kalshi will reward you with cheaper commissions for placing those limit orders and having them rest there in the order book.
