Trump’s not on trial for paying hush money. At least not directly. They are trying to show a hush scheme and apparently NY has an election law they are using. But he’s not even being charged with that.

They’re using the “hush scheme” to try to say falsifying records was to conceal a crime, of illegal campaign contributions…which is kind of weak. The way he reimbursed his attorney could be straight up tax fraud.

He doesn’t have to be charged with these crimes. They just have to show them in court then they can claim he was falsifying records to cover them up.

That becomes a felony.
