1st you have to decide if you want it to include all of the races that day or just the 2 big Friday and Saturday races or just the derby itself. Work from there

You don't need approval to have a contest. If they add to the pot that is great or you front it yourself or ask for donations. Show them how much interest is out there first

Remember anyone can write up a contest and run one. Whether the forum adds money to it or not doesn't hold anyone from running a contest. That is what I have done with all my contests. Maybe someone else will donate to it as well. Just like your best bet contest you have going. I have already said I will throw $50 bucks to the prize pool. It just needs an end date and set number of plays requirement. If I do well with this current reload maybe I will throw something to it. I am a generous degenerate when winning but have been getting destroyed as of late.

I personally haven't wrote up anything for the Derby. My thinking is pick your battles on what you really want contests on. Derby is a single event like the MMA contests. I would have a contest with all 3 races if i was writing it up with both individual race prizes and a combination prize.
