In an Uber that reaks of cigarette smoke

20-minute ride too

It would cost me time and $$ and be a lot of hassle if I had her drop me off somewhere and I got another Uber ride

Not true actually. They do yearly vehicle inspections that must be completed by mechanic and furthermore they do a third party background check yearly along with driving history

I know more about Lyft than Uber - having known someone who worked in their risk management group.

Lyft said they did backgrounds - but they were very very prone to missing things. Downright scary the number of sex offenders driving for them.

Just happened to be reading today about Sunny Hostin from The View and suing Uber’s insurance partner in NY over a fraud suit they brought against her husband. Very familiar with the company and if there was ever a lawsuit I’d love to see both parties lose their ass on - this would be it. This company has long been a complete joke and was a pain in my ass daily for 6 years dealing with NYC cabbies. How they ever managed to get Uber’s business I’ll never understand.

You can easily forge an inspection document. Uber doesn’t check to see if you went there.

Both companies use the same third party to do the background check. It's a company called checkr. I've heard stories about them missing known issues though

I've seen videos of Uber drivers throwing people out of their cars. Talked to one guy who said he picked up a drunk hot chick and she wanted him to f*** her. Dude turned her down. Never had a bad Uber or Lyft driver.

The uber car must have been really effing bad for him to complain about this.
