It would cost me time and $$ and be a lot of hassle if I had her drop me off somewhere and I got another Uber ride

In the past when I’ve had to take an Uber or Lyft a lot of times I’ll get older retired guys just looking to do something to kill time and make a few bucks. Usually drive nice cars and 95 percent of the time the ride is great

It’s when I get these women in their late 30s to early 50s it’s maybe 50/50 at best. All seem to have shitty cars, are poor drivers - bouncing in and out of traffic - and very loud

I thought Uber had a car check standard that drivers must meet to transport passengers, one of which is a presentable, clean car.

This place I do some freelance work for schedules me the rides so I can’t review the driver or cancel the ride for that matter now that I think about it if the driver looks sketch

Don’t be cheap - spring for a nicer Uber Premium or something.

Supposedly - there are standards as to who can drive Uber and what they can drive (clear criminal background/car newer than 10 years and good condition). I strongly doubt they inspect anything or check backgrounds.

I used to do it all of the time when traveling for work as super easy to get a receipt and use the corporate card to pay.

Had a few sketchy ones in the years taking me on “shortcuts”. Worst was a ride in Arlington one night - had went to ballgame with a bunch of people from work - and left myself as they were staying out drinking. Driver started taking me into some rougher parts of that side of Dallas so I just casually showed my EDC and suddenly he decided to follow the GPS suggested route again.

Had no control ordering this one unfortunately

Would have canceled it as soon as I saw driver and vehicle

I should have called the business that scheduled it for me and had them cancel and reschedule
