Go watch any non-tv college or high school game.

Those games can go 3 hours or more. I seen high school games go 6 overtimes.

Kind of my thoughts - so a HS game takes longer than a nationally televised pro game ?

I agree that some level of match rigging is taking place in the NFL - but the fact the games are tightly organized and tend to run within the allocated times isn’t really the proof of that.

The proof is in the fact that bookmakers have yet to have 2 losing seasons in a row EVER. In fact it’s rare to see them beaten back to back weeks (seems to be more common of late though).

High school games can go 5 hours. College games can go 3, 4 overtimes.

NFL always on time.

there are games that go into overtime, there's weather delays etc....not every game always ends on time. although rare those things do happen

High School half time is 28 minutes officially but its more like 35+ minutes with team bands playing and presentations. Quarters are 12 minutes long and games are usually 2.5 to 3.5 hours depending on if its a running game or passing game and of course half-time BS.

In college, halftimes are 20 minutes but they are not strictly adhered to, again with bands playing an other BS taking place. That stretches it out.

In NFL, halftimes are 13 minutes and they are pretty strict about that timing. I think NFL has a lot more running clock situations than in HS/College so they speed things up even with 15 minutes quarters.

Just some things to consider that I see Philly.

Talking about a game with super athletes crashing into each other for 60 minutes. they wrap up overtime quickly because if they made it any longer these guys would be crawling on the field. Example this Dallas game, another OT and it would sloppy shit high school quality football. Also nfl games are not flooded with all the gimic bs that high school and college games have, their pace is dictated by the monster tv contracts that are paid to them. Super reach connecting the time of the game to some backdoor fixed theory.

not always, i had a similar fact years back when something like 12 of 16 afternoon games went OT going into SNF.

The ones that didn't were missed fgs or tipped ints

Or could it just be they haven’t publicly acknowledged the technology exist that has a 70% formula.

Really seems it should be easy - got a few guys here who consistently manage to pick about 30% - just reverse engineer their way of thinking.

Reality is picking winners is hard enough to begin with when you factor in things like injuries, weather and crowd noise (the human factors). Picking against the spread is a whole ‘nother layer of difficulty.

Picking winners at a 70% rate is likely VERY doable - but really hard to make a profit at 70% when your laying -500 or higher on some of these games - miss one and your going to need to do a lot better than 70% to stay profitable. Spreads are such a variable.

When it comes to NFL - key numbers are everything as the percentage of games that finish with a 3 or 6 point winner is considerably higher in my opinion.
