Dude no offense, but you’re either bored or lonely or both. I don’t mean any disrespect here. You seem to be set in your ways at the mid point of your life, there’s nothing I can say to change your POV, & that’s perfectly “OK”.
This is what I felt the last time.

Well you need $$$ as long as we’re alive. Pays my rent, bill etc

If you’re not caught up in the grind of paying rent/mortgage and bills etc, you have the mental space to ponder life’s deeper questions, even if it comes with loneliness. Let’s be real, Sunny when was the last time you were intimate with someone ? My point is, without a sense of purpose, it’s easy to dwell on things beyond your control, which drains your energy in regards to Philly.

This is a circular argument. Every person operates according to their own way.

So you say bored, but if I'm a spontaneous person, then I will constantly act according to that.

Meaning, we're all "set" in our ways regardless of what they may be.

But it doesn't matter, really, for any of us as we all must live this existence and experience the same result in the end.

So you don’t believe in any kind of afterlife Philly ?

Ah see, now we're starting to realize.

It's we, ourselves, that give us a sense of purpose. Why do we do this?

To try to make sense and give meaning to this existence.

So, we invent and project that onto ourselves to give us meaning, purpose, somethingto hold on to.

Because the reality is, no matter how you slice it, this is still a nightmare.

The more you give, the more you get .
It’s how you feel in your mind and what you think of yourself.
Try acts of kindness. Help the next guy in line. Hold a door for a mom or an elder, volunteer at a homeless shelter.
Everywhere you look there are people in need. You no doubt have friends who need a hand with something? Maybe a single mom could go out to dinner with a friend while you watch the kid. Maybe grandma needs help around the house. Certainly you know someone that could use a break or a hand with something.
It’s not about money , it’s about giving . Your payment is what you most likely need. Validation, a sense of being or belonging, or better still the feeling that helping someone else gives you. Your body releases chemicals that helps the brain. And mood swings.
Try it.
You would be amazed .
Good luck.

Thanks for that, pal.

Unfortunately, while you may feel better doing these things, they don't and can't change the nature of our reality.

They don’t need to. You can’t control the nature of our reality. But you can control the reality we live and how we choose to live it. Be the best version of yourself and all you can control that you can be. Everything else is out of our hands.
But that’s ok. Just make this place a little better for the next generation and you have done your job well.

What is it? What is true happiness?

Such a thing cannot possibly exist.

We have moments of euphoria but they never last.

We are born into a world where as we grow up and get older everything and everyone we know and love dies around us.

We inflict self harm seeking happiness. We use alcohol, drugs, whatever to get another moment of euphoria but all it is a just that-a moment.

Humanity appears to me to be set up for self destruction. Seeking things in this world that are impossible to achieve, know, or understand.

In our unavoidable eventual state of agony, we turn to family, friends, and prayer for help.

Only for eeverything to lead us back to eventual more agony.

It doesn't end until we die.

What kind of existence are we actually in?

Humanity has no idea...

1) How we got here.

2) Who created us and for what purpose.

3) The purpose of this existence.

4) Where it eventually leads.

5) Our own past.

6) Our future.

7) The meaning of it all.

How can this even be possible?

If a state of total, never-ending euphoria actually does exist, well Humanity has a word for that. Heaven.

So we will never experience real happiness unless we go to Heaven.

What are the chances?
please get Xanax today. Lol

I disagree

Just because we can’t understand something or experience it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Lots of people are happy - or so they say.

Gratitude is in my experience the key to experiencing any degree of happiness. Spend 5
Minutes with my dogs and you’ll see they are happy. They are grateful as they have a decent life these days - something they didn’t always have. At the same time - they help me remain grateful for what I have and remind me to not be the asshole I can be to everyone - just those that truly deserve it.

There isn't anything to disagree about. Your dogs, winning a bet, helpinga granny cross the street, these things might make you feel better but they don't change this reality.

You can't change this Matrix. It is what it is. Happiness is only a perception of a projection we place on ourselves.

There is no such thing as all euphoria all the time.

Perception is reality.Until you perceive happiness - you will not experience it.

Open your mind and perceive it and only then can you begin to experience it. As long as you remain closed off - you will never experience it.

It's an old and false saying.

Perception is not reality. Reality is reality.
