How Often Do You Change Your Phone?

I use an Iphone 16 and an Xiaomi MIX fold 3.

The Xiaomi is my favorite phone to use but use both just as equal. Every 2-3 years I try to get a new one if it is in my budget.

So my buddy calls and says dude did you see the new Galaxy phone coming out?

I say no, what's up?

Says you gotta get it bro it's unreal. I say oh yeah? What's good about it?

He says the camera is probably the best camera ever put on a phone, the battery life is outrageous, and it's really fast.

I say bro, it's just a phone. When I need one, I'll get one.

He tells me what? You gotta keep up with the latest tech, you'll be obsolete if you don't.

I say bro, again, a phone is a phone. I'm not tech obsessed like you. My phone is fine ain't nothing wrong with it. I'm cool.

So he goes on for the next 10 minutes about how I gotta get this new phone.

Am I wrong here?

Do I or should I really change my phone every year?

Why ? Who the hell needs a “bigger” iPhone.

The damn pro max is already just short of a small iPad - just buy a damn iPad if you need something bigger.

95% of what I can do I can do on a regular sized phone - the other 5% I use my 8 year old laptop for. Never understood the need for the greatest in processing and camera and display unless you are a serious gamer or a video/photo processor - in which case you need a desktop.
