My local food chain used to often have eggs on sale for 99 cents fairly regular about a year ago.

I live in a rural area down on the bayou so I have been buying eggs from the same farmer for years now at 2 dollars a dozen. can't remember the last time I bought eggs from a store

80% of my vegetables I get from the same farmer as well. not always the cheapest price most likely but convenient and I know where it came from so I can't ever complain.
