I haven’t seen a game of theirs this year. Are they the real deal ?
100%10+ teams could be in the hunt.
They're tough defensively but for them to win 6 in a row they're going to have to be able to create more offense. An example is they faced Alabama this year and Alabama beat them despite being down 15 because Alabama is very good offensively. I just think Houston has some problems scoring against good teams and is hard to judge because they don't face that many good teams in their conference so when they did play one this year they struggled.I haven’t seen a game of theirs this year. This is great , informative information! Thank you !They're tough defensively but for them to win 6 in a row they're going to have to be able to create more offense. So to answer your question I think they're a wild card because Kelvin Sampson is such a good coach but I won't be backing them because I think to win in March you're going to have to be able to win in a number of different ways like high scoring games and defensive rock fights. I'm not sure about Houston's offense despite the fact that their key player Marcus Sasser is very good and an NBA prospect.
The more I think about it though Houston is on the short list of contenders for a reason they are very good. They're 28-2 for a reason they have experience and talent plus one of the best coaches in the game as I've mentioned. Whether they pull it off by winning the Final Four in their backyard this year remains to be seen but I guess you can't count them out. They have great guard play and a lot of these guys played on their teams that made deep runs in the tourney including making the Final Four in 2021. So talent, experience and depth are all in their favor this year which are some things I think that make them a buy team for a lot of people. This is great , informative information! Thank you !
To me they are just a defensive-oriented version of teams like Gonzaga. Asking them to win 6 games in a row on a neutral court against increasingly better teams from real conferences is a tall task. The more I think about it though Houston is on the short list of contenders for a reason they are very good. Thanks again, I have only watched ILLINI games this year, I am usually asleep during the games. I will be watching them , curious about them. The more I think about it though Houston is on the short list of contenders for a reason they are very good. You could be right but I think Houston is an elite team that you shouldn't count out. The fact that they've made a Final Four before with Marcus Sasser playing a key role has me thinking they may just finish the deal this time with him leading the way as a senior. I think they're Final Four good and with an NBA caliber player in Marcus Sasser I think they could cut down the nets in Houston this year.To me they are just a defensive-oriented version of teams like Gonzaga. Could they do it? Sure, there are a lot of teams that could
But at like +600 to +700 the value on them is just not there. I think they flame out in Sweet 16 or Elite 8
The best team is Kansas imo
Actually I think Purdue is the most vulnerable of the top 4 seeds. Purdue might not even get a 1 seed anymore because they stumbled down the stretch. Teams will double and triple team Edey making Purdue show they can win from the perimeter which I don't think they'll be able to. Houston has the guard play and experience necessary to win in March. It'll be interesting to see what happens to them when other teams are able to slow them down because as I've said they sometimes have trouble scoring.Houston the most overrated team among the top
(Now watch them win it all)
JJ told me that Purdue will never advance because they have 4-5 whites on the floor most of the time.
