why bet small on a regression to the mean potential hot streak ?


for example over 100 -110 pays you might expect to go about somewhere between 44-56 to 56-44

if I bet 70 games 100 dollars per game and only won like 29 of those games. so I decided to bet 25 dollars per game.

over the next 30 games I get hot and win 26.

so now I'm now 55 wins out of 100 plays

but I'm still done about 10 original units or 1,000 Instead of a small profit

You will destroy your breakeven point.

If you go on a losing streak betting $20 a play and then reduce to $10 when you finally hit the winners you won't have won back what you deserve. Changing bet sizes when running cold is not a good idea, one option is tto reduce the number of bets, even if using 2 pick parlays, but reducing the unit itself should be a last resort.

I have an even better idea, just bet smaller on your losing streaks and bet bigger on your winning streaks....right?

The problem with that streak advice is that you can never tell when you're in a winning or losing streak, you can only tell if you just had one.

That's the problem with these bets. Too much risk for too little reward. Not gonna try to get it all back in 1 shot like before but little by little. Even this bet isn't great but hitting a low total is much more likely than a random NBA ML
