update... bookmaker confirms on chat that all bets will stand

even on tape delays, if the info isn't publicly known then why should it matter? a lot of sportsbooks were taking bets on wrestlemania when it wasn't live, or dancing with the stars, survivor, etc

Only bets placed during recorded time should be voided if any and even most of those probably wouldn't be shady bets as regular gamblers wouldn't know. Criminals and people that work for the event are the ones though that would be in the known.

If would be bullshit for you not to be paid having your bet in over 3 hours early. Maybe they just have to void and manually grade all wagers?? No way they not pay you.

Any update on this? I would have thought Heritage would have ruled in OP’s favor. If they don’t that’s pretty weak

the plot thickens related to this event... maybe it was taped a week ahead of time? and the people that know what happened are being hush-hush about it?

pfl's twitter page says the events are live, and everything about it said "livestream", "live tomorrow", etc

Due to the over abundance of DM's and twitter posts requesting that we not release the details of PFL 7. We will release the story at midnight, Tuesday morning. Supposedly, the "local" bookies don't pay out till Monday. We don't want anyone who won money to loose out.

I don't get it. Is there no crowd?
these matches are at universal studios orlando

think of all the fighters, corner people, refs, facility staff, etc that would've known and kept it a secret?

no matter what happened i would just like some proof and/or consistency... it's a bad look for sports betting/mma when one book will cancel bets and others will let them stand

They offered lines. They booked the bet. Pay the bet

There have been odds on Survivor, American Idol, etc in the past and you know that was taped

that is my feeling as well, or cancel it ahead of time if the betting patterns look crazy. the sportsbooks should know more than a random bettor whether a line is fair/good or not

the last 2 nights, heritage and others had lines for wrestlemania matches... a whole lot of people knew the outcome of those in advance, and they even had wrestlemania lines when it wasn't live in 2020

Hi Mike,

Here is a statement from PFL;

"On Friday, April 1, 2022, the PFL 2022 Challenger Series week #7 ("CS#7") was broadcast for the first time by fuboTV in the US, Canada, France, and Spain and by other broadcasters in other countries. This program featuring professional debut MMA fights was a pre-recorded program that was taped on Friday, March 25, 2022.

We understand that betting markets were erroneously made by certain sportsbooks on April 1 for these CS#7 fights.

PFL did not intend for any betting markets to be made. To that end, PFL did not feature any betting lines, betting content, or promotion of any sportsbooks in connection with the CS#7 program, and PFL entered confidentiality agreements with everyone involved with this program.

The CS#7 program is the first time in PFL history that the initial broadcast of a PFL event was pre-recorded. PFL is reviewing its policies and procedures with respect to our communications with independent sportsbooks in order to further clarify the distinction between live and pre-recorded PFL events.

Follow up questions may be directed to Jim Bramson, PFL EVP of Business Affairs and General Counsel, at jbramson@pflmma.com."

id like to see heritage and bookmakers bottom line on bets placed for this event and see if that correlated to bets refunded/bets standing

looks like an honest mistake....but someone has to pay for mistakes as well

Agree OP should still get paid. He had no knowledge of this event being taped. Like I said earlier I know for a fact shows like Survivor, etc are taped and odds have been offered and bets paid.

Offer lines. Book the bet. Pay the bet

Cut and dry. The fights were recorded a week early. And as an update, now that there is clarity on what happened, the OP is asking BMR to help get bets voided at another book on these events, which we will try to facilitate. The statement seals the case, there was no integrity in those markets.
