Did you take your test in the 70s/80s.... I'm guessing you did. --> Max score 1600.
Average test score was 1050.

A 614 test score on a 1600 scale would put you at the very bottom of the list (the bottom 1 percentile). Sorry JJ. That's probably why you got the rejection letter from MIT.




Changes to SAT Scores:
A perfect SAT score was 1600 in the 70s and 80s, then changed to 2400 from 2005 to 2016, and is now back to 1600.

That means you got a raw negative score on either the verbal or math part.

Were you good at math but bad in English, or vice versa?

It's pretty tough to get a raw negative score, but you did it.

I knew a girl who aced the verbal, literally aced it, and got a raw negative math score.

I know a guy who got 1570 on the SAT, another few friends between 1400-1500. They missed very few questions.

I got 1350 on my SATs.
