Illini, I am trying my best to work with you here but you are making it extremely difficult.

Look, why don’t you just get these things set up first:

2 bedroom apartment
Bank account LOADED with Dong.
Masseuse

We’ll work out the details on the rest when I get there.
I can do everything very easy. That’s what I do , Diggity aka the new dad.

Oh, this is sad. I know lots of Filipinos are already addicted to online casinos, where apps are very easy to install.
I feel you are part to blame here , Po. You could be doing more to help your people. Dont pass the blame. Take a stand , make a difference , Po.

Haha, I'm just a simple citizen with no power in these kinds of issues, po. Heck.. I can't even push our local barangay captain to ask our neighbor's approval for the dump truck to pass through our area to collect our trash. :ROFLMAO:

Yes, you have a job waiting for you as soon as you get off the plane, I will arrange a very nice apartment too. Everything will be done for you.
I was going to joke "yeah, they don't have those pesky background checks in Vietnam either" but I thought better of it since I didn't want you to think maybe there was an inkling of truth to it.

Just an FYI, I currently have a Public Trust Clearance with the US government in a highly sensitive area.

QL can you pull my "file". I'd like to know what the gov't has on me.
I'm not worried too much abou it but I want to make sure it doesn't impact my ability to re-enter the US if I leave.

Thx

There is absolutely background checks very extensively here. You need background checks from American if you are an American and one in Vietnam if you want to do business here. You need one from Vietnam if you have been here longer than 60 days but one from America is needed and it has to be stamped and certified by the government.

No. I don’t like it.

What’s the work around, Illini?

You can find your own information by submitting for a Lexis/Nexis report.

I submitted for one once because someone else was listed on the Social Security number tied to my checking account (along with me) and they bounced some checks so I couldn't open a checking account at a bank.

I had to go to the Social Security office and get an affidavit that I was the only one using my Social Security number and then had to send that to the banking reporting agency (CHEX) to get the other 2 names taken off my record. Imagine applying for a checking account and finding 3 people (myself and a married couple) assigned to the same Social Security number.

So I wanted to make sure there were no mistakes on my background check for employment. Thankfully there were none.

Here's what is included in the report:

A LexisNexis report includes broad personal data from public records and proprietary sources, covering
insurance claims history (CLUE reports), driving records, property records, court filings (liens, bankruptcies, judgments), identity info, professional licenses, and sometimes education/employment verification, used by insurers, lenders, and employers for risk assessment, affecting rates and eligibility.

Key Information Found in a Report:
  • Personal Identifiers: Names, addresses (historical), phone numbers, SSN verification.
  • Insurance Data: Claims history (CLUE), insurance scores, motor vehicle records (violations).
  • Public Records: Liens, judgments, bankruptcies, property ownership, professional licenses, business records.
  • Credit-Related Info: Credit inquiries, disputes, and potentially credit-based insurance scores.
  • Criminal Records: Basic criminal history (depending on request purpose
