The Philippines is struggling to keep pace in the Southeast Asian (SEA) tourism race, receiving fewer than 4 million international visitors between January and August 2025.

According to data from "Seasia Stats," this puts the country far behind its major neighbors, with four SEA nations attracting between 2.5 and 7 times more tourists:

• Indonesia welcomed 10.4 million visitors (over 2.5 times more).
• Vietnam saw 11.6 million arrivals (nearly 3 times more).
• Thailand registered 21.88 million visitors (over 5.5 times more).
• Malaysia topped the list with 28.24 million foreign tourists (over 7 times more).

The figures highlight a significant challenge for the Philippines when competing with its larger, more easily accessible neighbors.

A group of scammers in #HoChiMinh City operated an illegal clinic called AC International, defrauding patients of over VND 17 billion (about USD 700,000) in just five months.
The suspects - Nguyen Van Truong, Vo Van Duc, Cao Tan Tu, and Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Linh - had no medical qualifications. One even held only a veterinary technician certificate, yet they posed as doctors, wearing white coats and directly administering IV fluids and injectionscontaining saline, vitamins, and painkillers.
Originally registered as a beauty and skincare business, AC International illegally expanded into medical treatment under Truong’s direction. The group created fake Facebook pages, used doctored photos, and posted false testimonials to attract patients, mainly elderly or chronically ill individuals.
Victims were pressured to buy expensive treatment packages or take out loans. The scam ran from February to July 2025.
Police have detained the suspects for fraudulent appropriation of property and are calling for more victims to report. Authorities warn the public to only visit licensed medical facilities and to be cautious of miracle treatments advertised online.

I am not saying that South Korean girls do like foreigners , sure some do but for the most part they want nothing to do with them/us. Same goes for Vietnam, sure, you see foreigners with girls here, but for the most part, they want nothing to do with us. If someone wants to go to a SEA country for girls and the sex industry then go to Thailand, Indonesia or the Philippines , but if you want to come for a real girl for a real relationship where a girl will actually like you then come to Vietnam, Myanmar, East Timor, Campuchia, Laos etc but Vietnam is very difficult as well, most want nothing to do with us. Not in my case though. I am engrained in the society and culture here. But most girls look at foreigners that are here are pure losers, they know most were losers in their own country and came here for certain reasons, not all cases, but for the most part.

I didn't realize Malaysia was all that popular. I've heard good things about both visiting there and living there. And of course the food is pretty good too.

I love going there, been there 4 times. I am headed back in April, a childhood friend from Santa Barbara is coming here. We are doing. Hanoi, Con Dao, Ho Chi Minh City, Phuket , Kuala Lumpur, Singapore. 4 countries in 10 days! Malaysia is amazing!
