You've been over there long enough to start spelling like a Brit. I remember living in Singapore where they measure buildings in "storeys". When a road went over a bridge over another road it was a "flyover" instead of an "overpass" and there were "motorways" instead of "highways".
I became friends with this Buddhist lady. Her particular version of Buddhism was where they don't eat beef. The way she described it was: "we don't take beef".

I often go to the border towns in Myanmar, China, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam for the casinos and other crazy stuff going on. The craziest, most dangerous is by far in Myanmar but all of them have their own character. I love this stuff. Over the years, I have seen it all, from the illegal wildlife trade, tons of drugs, etc etc , you name, I have seen it. This is a place, I often go to, it is a border town in Cambodia that has around 30 Casinos, right on the border with Vietnam. Vietnamese and Chinese go to gamble, and often some Vietnamese are lured to work there. Often in horrible conditions. This is a video of Vietnamese that were working at a casino and being abused. They all got together and made a run for it. You can see them running out of the casino and the Cambodian guards tried to hit them with sticks, you can see them jumping in the Mekong swimming to Vietnam, one person drowned... I am going there this Friday, I will post some videos. What goes on at these border towns, is unreal and the average person wouldn't be able to comprehend it. This is a crazy video.

The only time it is "a little " dangerous is when I pry into the illegal wildlife trade, I have seen tigers, bears, monkeys and pangolin,, I have seen active wildlife trading in northern Myanmar at the Golden Triangle and it was the only time I had felt a little in danger, I was really deep into that scene and took a taxi 2 hours to see a remote area at the border where they are selling it all.
