No, everything that is done in America is run differently here. Hanoi and the big cities have beautiful skylines with huge apartment buildings. There are literally thousands of brand new apartment buildings here. You can come get a lease for a 12 months, 3 months etc. etc. No background check needed, no such thing as a credit report here. If you have the money that is all that is needed. A foreigner can only own apartments but not houses. Vietnam had to put a cap on investments because so much foreign money is coming in here. All apartment buildings are 30% owned by foreigners. Tons are owned by people in China, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore. They do tours here with investors and then they buy. The guy that owns my apartment is from Hong Kong and he owns 23 apartments in Hanoi. They are great investments, lots of money is being made here and the bank interest is out of this world, that is another topic I get into, 9-11%. I am going to buy an apartment here and in Phnom Penh.Illini do you own property there or rent?
Also are leases there similar to US... 12 months, etc?
