AFC has recently released the club competition rankings for Asia 2023/24. Thailand remains firmly at the top of ASEAN and is ranked 8th in Asia. In second place is Malaysia, ranked 12th in Asia, followed by Vietnam in third place, ranked 14th.
These rankings and point calculations will determine the slots for participation in the Asian competitions for the 2025/2026 season. Currently, only Thailand and Malaysia have secured one direct slot each to the Asian Champions League Elite, with Thailand receiving an additional slot through the qualification route.
Vietnam, Singapore, and the Philippines did not secure slots in the ACL Elite but have each obtained one direct slot to ACL Two (the second tier of the Asian Champions League) and one slot through the qualification route. Meanwhile, Indonesia, ranked 28th in Asia and 6th in ASEAN, did not automatically secure slots for the ACL Elite or a direct slot to ACL Two, and has only one slot through the qualification route to ACL Two.
