Vietnam Leads Southeast Asia in Passenger Vehicles: Motorbikes and Mopeds Dominate in 2024!
According to research by Bain & Company, GenZero, Standard Chartered Bank, and Temasek, residents in several countries in Southeast Asia tend to prefer two-wheeled vehicles over four-wheeled ones.
Vietnam is noted as the country with the largest share of passenger vehicles of motorbike and moped types among others, reaching 96% of the total vehicle share in the country. The remaining 4% comprises cars. Below it, Indonesia holds a motor vehicle share of up to 88%. Following is Thailand with a share of 69%. The Philippines has a motor vehicle share of up to 63%, and Malaysia has 49%.
