I had a pretty disturbing interaction on this trip at the Immigration in Wuhan. I lived in China off and on for a few years. I have been in and out of the country 15 times total. It is pretty much just like any other country, no issues. At times maybe ask a question but rare. This time, I was asked why I am going into China, who I am meeting or going with, how many days. address of hotels, they saw me with my friend ( she was already waiting for me on the other side ) they asked my relation with her. Asked how I knew how and if she is with me. I suspect it was probably because i am much older than her and she looks young. She is 29 and I am 50. They have to make sure there is nothing going on or possibly something else. I told them we have been traveling together for 7 years and our passports match for all the vacations we have been on. As soon as i said that, they didn't ask anything else. Then he said for me to obey all Chinese laws and gave me a little slip in my passport that said that as well. They called someone over and kept looking at my passport and the picture and asked what I was doing in Vietnam etc etc. I was there for a total of 13 minutes about 11 minutes too long. It was very concerning but in the end everything was ok.
I am not a fan of immigration/customs officers either. Got offloaded once in PH, a traumatic experience.Sometimes Customs does random shit like that.
I went in to Canada one time and they asked me what I did for a living, how long I was going to be in the country, was I going to do any work there. I mean, wtf? I was just visiting a friend.
Another time in 2018 I came back from Ukraine and flew into JFK. The Customs officer asked me what I was doing there, who I saw there, blah, blah, blah. I told him I visited there because my mother's family lived there before moving to the US. Makes me wonder if they knew some shit was going down ahead of the war and they had to be ever vigilant about what Americans were doing over there.

I love cashewsDuring the past many years, Vietnam has continuously held the number 1 position in the world in cashew nut export. In the global context that is seriously affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vietnamese cashew industry still strives to maintain this highest ranking.
@BMR Genie we were #1 in the world for Cashews but the Ivory Coast took over the #1 spot, we are #2 or #3 now.
They make them with literally everything here. Durian Cashews are the best I have ever eaten. I eat them all the time. There is probably over 30 different kinds here, maybe more.I love cashews
But just like with everything else that people like to eat they don't have the nutritional value that other nuts do LOL
Damn! #2. It's a must to drink coffee in Vietnam then.Of course, #2 in the world.
Vietnam is the second largest coffee exporter in the world and was ranked first in coffee cultivation yield with 2.4 tons/hectare in the International Coffee Organization's Annual Review 2021/2022
