Hanoi now has 3 Mcdonalds. The first one came here a few years ago. They have their own Asian style chains of fast food places all over the place. Fast food here
Diggity aka the new dad. Viet is a tonal language, in the North where I live we use 6 tones in HCMC they use 4-5, there are times when I travel I am using Hanoi tones and sometimes I will say a curse word by mistake by them thinking I am using the wrong tone, it is pretty funny.

What a shame. Vietnam has such healthy food and that fast food looks to be so much breaded fried foods just like in the US. I do love a deep fried spring roll every now and then, though.
Now you have me hungry! I'm going to go get some Bún Chả Giò Bò Nướng (Grilled marinated beef and egg roll with rice vermicelli). I'll post a pic.
For those who may not know, Phở is the Viet rice noodle dish but the broth is very hot. So in hot days like now, I like to have Bún as an alternate. It still has the rice noodles but instead of hot broth it has lettuce and it's served with fish sauce which is sweet and doesn't smell hardly of fish at all.
