Lucky guy.

Someday Texas will join the real world and have legalized betting.
Good luck with that. In Alabama back in the late 80's early 90's they even shut down the little old ladies playing BINGO at church. The GOP ( not a political statement just what it is) runs the state and they shut it down before it gets rolling.
Can't even get the Lotto.
Here in Tennesse, where it was a lot like Alabama when it came to gambling, in 2004 we managed to get the lotto, after years of trying with no success. They came up with a board to run it. The last time we had sports gambling come up they decide, it fell under the lotto boards authority. So, in 2020 we got sports gambling. If not for the lotto and the lotto board, we would still not have it here. It's very political in the south and the ones running things, for some reason are against it, at least publicly. Most of the elected officials owe their soul. the churches and they are against it.

Same issue here.

The conservative/religious right is holding it up. The liberals actually want it for the state taxes.
All these politicians are worried about getting removed from office by the christian right if they allow gambling. Crazy stuff.

If not for the Indians, Florida never would have gotten it

The opponents differ in various ways for each state
