Ahead of the band's 50th anniversary reunion shows, legendary frontman Dee Snider has retired due to health issues. The band has postponed all of their scheduled appearances while they figure out their next move - if there is one.

"I don't know of any other way to rock," Snider says. "The idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I'd rather walk away than be a shadow of my former self."

Always liked the guy - seemed to maintain a sense of common sense many rock stars lose after tasting success.

Long time freedom of speech proponent.

Stay Hungry was me of the first cassettes I bought in 1984. Would have been 10-11 around that time but my older cousins were teenagers and a lot of my music taste were shaped by them. It was totally different than anything of of the era. I mean the hardest mainstream stuff of the time was Van Halen and Ozzy - but between this and the reformed Quiet Riot with Metal Health things were changing quickly. Wish him the best going forward.

Yea - a lot of these guys just don’t know when to say when. Of anyone - I think Robert Plant hasn’t done the best at remaining active while not continuing to act like it’s 1971 and he’s the center of the arena rock universe. He’s still making music - just a vastly different style than Zeppelin.
