@samsncharge99 story a few months ago about one of his passing
It's tough because as you said, they become part of the family
After mine died over 10 years ago, I have intentionally avoided getting another because you're just setting yourself up for more heartbreak
Well, about 1.5yrs ago my wife at time had her mother pass away, and she took on two 4yr old Yorkies
The female became attached to me, so i did her as well
She's been acting strange lately in several ways so took her to vet like 3 times insisting something is wrong, as first 2 times they said she was fine
After finally explaining each & every symptom, they finally did some tests, and xrays showed an enlarged heart, liver, and GI issues
Which finally explained everything I had been trying to tell them
They ran a test for heart worms to see if that was what was affecting her and the heart, and I was kind of hoping that was the case because they can treat that, but it wasn't
So not I'm stuck having to go thru this again and probably in worse way
