Has anyone seen the documentary on how the current (14th) Dalai Lama was found/selected? It is crazy. The monks searched the countryside for a child to take his place. This one was found when he was 4 years old (80 years ago). There isn't any criteria they look for, its all "mystical" in the selcection process.
When they go to find a successor, it will be huge news across the world especially since China is in control of Tibet and restricts the religion.

I don't remember Genie. It was on the internet years ago. There wasn't actual footage of the quest to find the current Daili Lama since it was in 1930s but they talked abou it.
Supposedly, the Daili Lama is reincarnated into a new person (a child) and that is who the monks go to find.
