This is crazy. So I looked up the backstory.
The ATF guy was doing his job. The guy in the apartment had an illegal shotgun the ATF agent was attempting to retrieve. That's apparently what this ATF guy investigates as his fulltime job. Some outlets are reporting that the apt guy was a felon in illegal possession of a firearm.
The Columbus police department has now been sued by the ATF agent and he will likely win the suit as the city has indicated the police response was improper. Whoops. I think the govt overreach this time was by the police not ATF.
I'm in full support of 2A and own several LEGAL firearms.
Still shows why certain police powers are excessive...such as how they treated the AFT officer like he was from Compton or something when they could have tried talking to him...I don't support excessive use of force like we see here but the cops got their own medicine...Wait
Tanko no no
I agree with you Tuesday.Still shows why certain police powers are excessive...such as how they treated the AFT officer like he was from Compton or something when they could have tried talking to him...I don't support excessive use of force like we see here but the cops got their own medicine...
Yup totally agree especially about the irony making it funny...cops are just human like anyone else no better than the janitors or fast food workers and if the bad cops keep bullying out the good cops that's pretty much where pig culture is now...if the good cops could weed out the bad than there would be a honourable culture instead of a bullying culture...same applies to every aspect of life and every level of government...I agree with you Tuesday.
Police ABUSE their powers all the time. I respect 90% of the men/women in blue but the other 10% make the whole group look bad. The funny part about this story is is they abused their powers on another law enforcement officer.
Amen to that.I find it good karma.
Feds always playing politics
This, he should have followed instructions knowing what could potentially happen or worsearrogance vs arrogance there
Just proves that they want to have double standards for enforcing the laws...they only want to do it to others but not have it done to themselves. This, he should have followed instructions knowing what could potentially happen or worse
