Germany / Spain yesterday :

" To the victor go the spoils " Congrats to Spain

I waited a day, and having watched the replay several times , the referees conduct during the 1st overtime should be reviewed by tournament officials. During the 1st overtime , there was a handball by the Spanish defender that was waved off by the English referee ( Taylor ). He is seen asking the players to wait a moment as he referred to a signal in his ear mic. He then turns toward the VAR and stands erect with his hands tight to his side , signifying that he believes the hand ball was incidental and his hands were tucked in. He is also notifying VAR that he feels no need to come over and review the play. It is 100% clear that the defenders arm is away from his body when contact is made and not as the referee suggested.

It was a great game that could have gone either way , but asking an English referee to be impartial while officiating a German team , is the same as asking a Palestinian to officiate an Israeli game and be unbiased.

My rant
OMG yes! I was shouting why the ref didn't award Germany the penalty. That ref was so bad.

Here we go......
Back at it with the quarterfinals starting tomorrow at 3 ET.
Spain v France....

What say ye Franz? Any leans heading into this one?
I looked at the 3 players who are out for Spain :
Le Normand and Carbajal are key defenders who are tough to replace. I mean no disrespect to Pedri, who was injured 8 minutes into the Germany game , but seeing Olmo replace him worried me. He's the more impactful player imo.
Lean to Spain and over 2 @ even $ might have so.e appeal in spite of the low scoring playoffs so far
