Honestly though, it was done to force a special election so some whacko Green Party candidate didn’t win the seat. He didn’t deserve that. That Green Party candidate was the only other one on the ballot.
But how can they have a "special election" if he was dead when voting began?? Shouldn't the the living person with the most votes be declared the winner?? That is messed up
If someone is on the ballot and meets all the requirements and dies after they are on the ballot, they stay on the ballot. If they win, a special election is automatically triggered.
