Draper, who grew up in Yerington, is a firefighter and said he hasn’t heard of any emergencies or damages related to the earthquake.
“Every 30 years or so we get earthquake clusters,” said KayCee Augustine, who manages the Yerington Manor, a residence for seniors and disabled persons in Yerington. “So, we were due for them.”
Luckily, Augustine said that structures at the Manor were unaffected. But some residents had complained about losing knickknacks that were sitting a bit too too close to the edge of shelves and dressers.
Roberta Clark, who lives at the Manor, was happy that her Christmas tree didn’t fall over, but said its topper was crooked and “looked drunk.”
“I was laying down with my dog and all of a sudden, she shot straight up. Then it hit,” Clark said. “She’s still shaking like a leaf. It was creepy.”
