It's always fun to celebrate Sweet 16! Going to West Regional @ Chase Center on Thursday to see Duke's championship opponent... Florida.

But first, the next opponent will be either Arizona or Oregon... who will come on down to face the Blue Devils in Sweet 16?

4-2 (+1.80) & 1 pending future.

Yahoo Sports Ranking Sweet 16:

1. DUKE (33-3)

How it got here: Defeated Mount St. Mary’s (16), Baylor (9)

Up next: Arizona (4)

BetMGM odds: +225

Outlook: It wasn’t that long ago that critics labeled Tyrese Proctor an underachiever after an underwhelming, injury-plagued sophomore season. Now he’s rewriting his legacy one clutch 3-pointer at a time. What Quinn Cook was for Duke’s freshman-laden 2015 title team, Proctor is for this year’s Blue Devils. The junior has provided defense, leadership and deadeye shooting, taking advantage of the defensive attention his teammates draw to hit nearly 40% of his threes. Proctor shot 7 for 8 from behind the arc against Baylor on Sunday as Duke piled up the most points per possession in an NCAA tournament game in nine years.

And, of course… #2….

2. FLORIDA (32-4)

How it got here: Defeated Norfolk State (16), UConn (8)

Up next: Maryland (4)

BetMGM odds: +425

Outlook: Two-time reigning national champion UConn wasn’t going to give up its crown easily. Florida had to wrest it away. Walter Clayton Jr. put the Gators on his back after they fell behind by as many as six points deep into the second half. Clayton sank a pair of heavily contested 3-pointers in the final three minutes, the first to give Florida its first lead of the second half and the second to extend the advantage to six with just over a minute to play. “Credit Clayton,” UConn coach Dan Hurley said. “He made some NBA-level 3s off the dribble to beat us. It took that for somebody to put us down.”

Don’t know if the line will hold to single digit when Thursday come but won’t take a chance so I’ll jump in now and grab that -9 as Duke will win by another double digits victory.

For some reason I was feeling more nervous about Duke facing Oregon than Arizona. Well, no need to worry after all.

Duke -9

Your Oregon vs Arizona comment is spot on.

An organized, slow tempo long and tall team is the only team that can beat duke.
Houston or Tex Tech. Hold duke to 70 and you could be right there final few minutes, but they might never see either. Arizona is a fast unorganized pick-up team when duke beats them by 15+ they will be +135 to win it all

Haven't seen Texas Tech play so don't know, but I think Houston is more one dimensional as being a strong defense team that won't work against Duke. Duke will lose to a well-balanced team that plays better than them. Yeah it's cliche, but it's going take defense and offense to beat them. In their 3 losses they scored 71 or 72 pts. So you going have them score but make key stops and, more importantly, make key shots. And that was what Clemson did in beating Duke. If I recall correctly, Clemson were pushing the ball against Duke numerous times during that game in keeping a more uptempo game.

I think the 4 teams in SEC can do it but they got to step up the game big time. Florida, Tenn, Kentucky and Auburn (I would've said Auburn was the best to do it until they had that 3-4 losses at the end). Michigan is red hot and have that "catching the magic in the bottle" moment right now which can upset Duke but it's a long shot and everything has to bounce in their favor to win it all.

Ok, enough with all the fantasy talk... Duke all the way!
