Who cares what punishment you would give? You are not the one who makes this decision. The NBA does. What you think "sounds right" doesn't matter.

If your logic is that they are gonna send a message to Draymond, then why haven't they done so in the dozens of times that he's done shit like this in the past?
this is different. it is escalating over one month.

the 5 games did not scare him.

now he will have a bigger book thrown at him.

this is Common Sense 101.

Your using the path of what should happen. I understand your logic train.

The difference is the NFL and NBA, etc don't always do what should happen

They are both notorious for being skimpy on punishment. Common sense doesn't always prevail. In fact, it often doesn't

i am not just a poster LOL

A bunch of us thought, if things are adding up, that he was due to get a big one, or some kind of further reprimand.

You , me wags, tanko, genie I think. there's been two threads.

So I just said posters to lump us in.

It seems they just reacted more to this one incident, with maybe a small enhancement.

It's hard for any of us to say what's "just" as it's up to the NBA. But the more egregious they become, you would think the NBA would be looking to stop it.

Like I said, if it were a younger player without such a long term rep, they wouled intervene with more than suspension.

But somehow Green got a long term rep, and I'm not sure what all he's endured to get there.

i have been watching all along since Dray came into the league.

i have actually followed Dray since he was at michigan state under izzo.

this is an escalation over the last month whereas in the past he kept it together for at least a few months, and i think it is mainly due to his frustration that the team is really struggling and Wiggy and KIay are in deep trouble.

ADAM SILVER is going to drop the hammer, Mate.

I agree Draymond is lashing out because of the over-arching team struggles

Wiggs/Klay are playing like dog shit

I don't think anyone wanted CP3 on the team either

It's funny though -- Draymond has a tendency to get ejected when Steph isn't playing. Didn't apply last night, but an interesting trend....

Yeah I've seen that.

Hard to tell if it's the internet noticing a random connection or if there is something there.

Feels like there could be something there but ejection after ejection gets crazy.

The NBA could give him 2 games

The NBA could give him 20 games

There is no consistency in how they deal with player discipline

I personally don't think this incident warrants much punishment, though he has lost the benefit of the doubt with his past actions

The optics look worse than it actually was

Agreed. That's why it's hard for anyone to say what's "just" punishment.

It's between the NBA and the player.

But they'll mold younger guys, Green's an old dog who's not about to learn any new tricks.
When I watched it live, it struck me more as Draymond trying to flop/sell a call because Nurkic was clearly holding him. He does that all the time, though obviously not to that extent

Nurkic loves doing shit like that because he can't guard a fence post

Draymond clearly went overboard, but idea that he was trying to hurt Nurkic is a bit of a stretch....

At the very least, it shows of the NBA is willing to put a lot more games on the line for suspension.

I’m going to write a letter to Adam Silver to force Draymond Green to go through corporate human resources diversity training classes.

After that, Draymond Green will never hurt another person again, he‘ll do anything to avoid that punishment again.

:lmao:

If he gets 10 games then recent issue took precedent

I'm just saying it wouldn't be consistent with how they'd punish other players for the same incident. Consistency shouldn't be key

Maybe they give Draymond 40 games. Let's see

Whether or not past stuff should matter is a topic of debate

it is part of a narrative. he was just suspended a month ago for 5 games for nearly choking a guy out.

this is an escalation of recent behavior.

in the Legal World they refer to it as PRIORS
