Michael would avg 50+ pts/gm in today's NBA.
No doubt about it

Some guys who didn’t see him play much think we are exaggerating or joking when we say that, but it’s true

He averaged 35 in not only a defensive-minded league back then, but was also double and even tripled teamed at times on a nightly basis

There’s really no comparison between the two it’s MJ in a tier of his own then everyone else

Gen Z & Gen alpha just look at stats and compare, yeah it’s not that simple.
Correct stats mean nothing in the NBA now

They are usually just trying to exchange shots and outscore each other

These players today have too much pride they are scared of being shown up against each other and the easy out is to just play light defense

The defense shows up in the playoffs somewhat at least it did last year, but I can only give them a margin of credit for that.

Jordan played when defense was king and the game was exceptionally physical.

Rodman was a defensive master. And a great rebounder.
Bill Lambeer comes to mind as a punisher.

LeBron really is a beast and playing at a top level as an old guy.

But man, watching Jordan work was amazing.

Kobe copied Jordan, literally.

There are other players from other eras.
Agree with everything you said

Lebron is impressive - He's just a different type & style of player compared to MJ and not even close to the same killer instinct

And Kobe is the closest to Jordan's game we have seen

Agree stats are hard to compare

But talent level is generally higher now pretty much across the board. It’s harder to play defense not just because of the rules but because of the skill level increase, specifically in perimeter shooting

Lambeer would not be able to play in today’s game because he’s just not good enough. Nothing to do with the rules

Lambeer btw thinks LeBron is the GOAT

MJ did not need to be a well rounded passer, he had others to handle that for him. Lebron HAD to add that angle to his game to even conceivably approach GOAT status. That man was on a mission to chase Jordan from day 1. Michael did not do the chasing, he was the alpha. Not to mention Jordan was a defensive machine.
