Hell - remember quite a few bat day giveaways that in hindsight it’s amazing didn’t cause riots.

You’ll notice soccer matches never feature fan giveaways of weapons like baseball - just another example of how the world is a bunch of pussies compared to ‘merica.

This was less than a month before Cal Ripken beat Lou Gehrig's games played streak on September 6, 1995. I remember this because the date of the Dodgers/Cards game reminded me of when I was teaching night classes so a few weeks later I couldn't see the Cal Ripken game.

I remember Ripken’s streak - just because if there would have been a rain out - it was going to happen in Cleveland and me and the old man had tickets for that game.

Great game that night and a better night out on the town afterwords.

Damn - how is it I can’t remember shit from day to day - but that game and night I remember vividly - including walking down onto the field at Muni Stadium.
