I do it twice a year. Hanoi to Singapore - 3 hours and 30 minutes, Singapore to LAX 16 hours and 50 minutes, 21 hours total , I could go a shorter route through South Korea or Taiwan or a direct flight from HCMC to SF but I like my miles on Singapore Air.
