I'd put legacy ahead of opinions, as those change, and people view you as they like, emotionally or based on the last thing you could do for them. Selfish IMHO.

I am completely free and live my life with my own rules and do what I want when I want but I had other expectations which I failed at.

Not sure this makes sense.

If you have given everything over to Christ and he leads you daily, I don’t think you would consider life a failure.

Your heart would’ve changed to reflect your new path.
