This is very sad. Prayers to Damar and the family. 🙏

Articles say he suffered cardiac arrest after taking a hard hit and is still in critical condition till now.

"What happens with blunt trauma to the chest?

Blunt chest trauma may cause cardiac contusion. Associated injuries include sternal fractures, rib fractures, and pulmonary contusion. Dysrhythmias are common, the most common being sinus tachycardia with nonspecific ST segment changes. Conduction blocks and ventricular rhythms may also be observed."

Any updates on his condition ?
Basically in a coma right now. Experts i have heard say we may not even get an update today.

the longer a person receives CPR its actually worse for the person. Evefy minute could be more future brain damage. At least 9 minites lf CPR was used last night. Typically that means 7 minutes to gain a pulse and 2 additional minutes to confirm and keep the beat going

doctors have said every scenario is on the table. From death, to long term brain damage, to being perfectly fine in a couple weeks

many factors go into this next 48 hours. How his brain responds. And also what were the underlying reasons and what issues did he have that caused this in the first place

a lot of more questions than answers right now. But most important as of now he is still alive but breathing through tubes not on his own

Talk about from one extreme to the other. If he did come out of this perfectly fine. That would be a sudden miracle we all prayed for.

its absolutely insane how extreme this got. did they give a % chance of him surviving this...

No way to know for sure, though it looked well below 50% for a while

Now I think it’s more likely he will survive, though he may be impaired for a while

A lot depends on how he responds to treatment today and next couple days

I’m still surprised that once off the field the ambulance waited a good 10 minutes or more in the parking lot for them to find and load his family to ride with them. Seems like minutes were precious and they would have gone to the level 1 trauma center two minutes away asap

I’m sure a cop could have waited for his mom/family and drove her/them as quick as he could to the same place

anyone have any thought on why they might have done this? My initial thought last night was a grim one. I thought he might have passed away
