Nba had no reason to get the leagues 3rd best player (when in shape) to their biggest market to join the #2 player all-time ugh......then potentially against his hometown team the Cavs who dont even need any ref help......Lakers get a call here and there and wouldnt you know, Nba finals of the century
They had plenty of reason to want to put him on the Lakers - unwatchable league and Lakers absolutely will be losing Lebron in the next 2 seasons.
We all saw what the league did when Lakers, Knick’s and Boston lacked star power. If Lakers don’t take this gift and lose Lebron - you’ve got an aging Celtics team and NYK continuing to chase free agents. Not a good look for the league as it tries to get back to its former glory. At least it’s not baseball - which despite a few valuable players is probably worse off in getting new viewers.
