Against Colombia , a 2 - 1 loss , Paraguay were steamrolled out of the gates. Down 2 - 0 by halftime , changes were made early 2nd half. Almiron , arguably the best player to come out of Paraguay , was taken off in the 59th min. He is the heart and soul of the team and had very little impact . He is worth a transfer value of $30 mill with Newcastle , a diminishing value , and seems to be regressing of late. Perhaps he has a nagging injury that isn't being spoken of ? The other 2 forwards Barrios ( Libertad Asuncion $3 mill ) and Enciso ( Brighton $22 mill ) who played limited minutes in the EPL. The midfield is inexperience by comparison to Brazil with Benitez of Libertad Asuncion in Paraguay ( $ 460k ) Cubas of VCR and Villasante of Gremio ( $10 mill ).
Brazil starting 3 up front were Viniscus Jr ( $ 190 mill - R.Madrid ), Rodrygo ( $104 mill - RMadrid ) and Barcelona star Raphina ( $50 mill )

Brazil NEED to win this game in order to travel back to Brazil without a lynching mob awaiting them. The weather in Paradise , Nevada at game time is 41c / 106f. The team that owns the possession game , and limits the chasing of shadows , wins this going away. Expect Paraguayan players to fake injuries and stall as much as possible in order to catch their breath in the sweltering heat
