Blair barn is starting to roll. Had a $49 winner at Indy a few days ago, then a $11 winner at Colonial. He wins wherever he goes and is usually overlooked in the betting.

Trainer Ortiz is another guy that wins wherever he ships and is usually under the radar. Had a 10-1 winner at the Spa last week (with Rosario up, like today) and an 8-1 winner at Ellis on Friday. Barn is getting warm.

For many many years, I have made some nice scores betting trainer Ferraro in today’s scenario; second time over the Spa course, less than 30-days rest. He won last week in the same situation at 11-1. An automatic bet for me.

For many many years, I have made some nice scores betting trainer Ferraro in today’s scenario; second time over the Spa course, less than 30-days rest. He won last week in the same situation at 11-1. An automatic bet for me.

Couple of things to look for in the second half of the Saratoga meet. In my opinion.

Ferraro second or third time over the course, less than 30 day layoffs- has two wins in this scenario in the last week, 11-1 and 14-1.

Donk second or third time over the turf course only. Scores in this mode on a yearly basis, usually at big odds. Won in this mode today at 6-1.

Colonial shippers from Trombetta, Beckman, and John Ortiz. All three are stabled at both Saratoga and Colonial, so if they ship one from the lower level Colonial, it might be for a big reason.

Anything from Michelle Nevin in the 8-1 and up range. Had two winners one one card the other day, think she’s laying in the weeds for a huge end of meet.

Race 4

$20 win # 4 Moon Factor 8-1
Ochoa finally gets this horse back in at the right level in the right surface. First start at Colonial was an off-the-turf stakes race, out of his league and wrong surface. Next one was right surface and distance, but Allow level here too high for him. Has him in Va Bred claimer sprinting on turf today. Perfect. Time to get onboard.

Race 10
$20 win #10 Hyteck Prince 15-1

Lawerence’s bread and butter is going long on turf. The longer the better. Yet, all meet long, all we’ve seen is sprinters and dirt routers. No thanks in those modes. Big price in his preferred mode today.

Try to catch Chad Brown with a “longer half” winner here. He usually pops a couple every meet. Maybe catch lightning in a bottle as bettors look elsewhere.

Trombetta is dominating Colonial, but not so at Saratoga. Showed some signs of life earlier this week with a chalky win here, so I am on alert. I missed his two bombs at Colonial. Won’t miss the first one at Saratoga.
