There might be 3 conferences. Big10, SEC, and a lower prestige but still strong conference in the Big12 with 16-20 teams.

NCAA's existence has been digesting unfathomable amounts of dollars on the backs of thousands of kids. The forced starvation of those dollars via Supreme Court decision will be the slow death of the "Association". Not a necessity at all. Their HR department is probably buried in retirement initiation paperwork.
