This kid having some success now suddenly thinks he has a right to start talking politics

SMH

This is why fans & sports bettors mix sports & politics these days

Because the athletes start it
Wait. What?
Did he shoot his mouth of on something political? I've not seen that.
That's a good way to get some fans to turn against you as a rookie if true.

His dad is serving a long prison sentence

So during his press conference, he just started bringing up how so many inmates are mistreated and how so many prisons are unfit for human beings

Giving a pity story about how his dad has never got to see him play and he is hoping there's a way that can happen (Coleridge Bernard Stroud III, is currently serving a 38-years-to-life sentence after pleading guilty in 2015 to charges of carjacking, kidnapping and robbery in a drug-related incident)

And how the criminal justice system is unfair & corrupt

He wisely threw in there that he believes ppl should have to serve for their crimes, but then continued

Probably some truth to what he said, but no reason to even go there

I'm ok with him complaining about that as long as it wasn't racist in nature.
Its probably good he's talking about how bad it is in prison. Maybe, just maybe, some people will listen to him and realize crime can lead to rough conditions in prison.

True

But most will argue that they are there for a reason lol

I have mixed opinions about that topic

But as for him and his speech, sounds to me just another case that we see over & over of a person in denial & defending a family member who is a criminal & threat to society

I hope he doesn't eventually become a "Lebron".
He has tremendous talent and could be a huge star in NFL if things go well.
