In the sports betting & gambling world, which one of the two do you consider worse & most classless?

Cheater: Cheating in a contest, taking a shot & betting an OBVIOUS bad line posted at a book or left up after game has started or over, cheating in a casino, or any other form of blatant cheating

Stiff: Not paying a winner you've lost to personally, a book, or group of winners in a contest in which you hold the funds

both case should never be tolerated.

Its neck and neck for top spot.
I guess I would put stiff just ahead of cheater because its more personal if you're the one getting stiffed. Its still bad if you're the one getting cheated.

Wager, this question is like saying would you rather be run over by a truck or an SUV.

Hence the reason the question & answer is intended to be tough

Cheating in a contest to gain an advantage over other members is worse than taking a shot at a book, especially if it is a crap book that has done the same to you. MarkyMark does not take shots at books because my accounts are all well established and with some I have a direct line to the brass.

Stiffs come with the territory. You can expect to get stiffed a few times if you are going to network and be in certain circles. But never do the stiffing yourself. Your word is all you have.

Stiff is more personal, gets my vote, but a book finding the slightest reason to not pay is unforgivable, and should not be tolerated, thats the highest form of stiffing. There will always be those who will try to find a way to cheat or stiff, its the nature of this business, it's expected. Here's one better from someone that used to deal with CC processors, there are those who deposit for six months or so, with a CC, win, and take payouts ,then chargeback all their deposits. Used to happen all the time, I'm sure it still does. Is that person a stiff, cheat, or is there another word for their action?

It depends upon what is the reasonable expectations between parties, for example if the relationship between parties is family members - both cheating and stiffing are equality bad, but if the relationship is enemies than cheating and stiffing each other is pretty much expected and as such not too bad.

For regular strangers or acquaintances stiffing is worse because agreements were made that debts would be paid, between strangers cheating is expected - slacker for example is a cheat and being warry of him in the future is wise, but it'd be worse for him to be a stiff that breaks his word.

Spot on. It also stings a lot more when someone you value cheats or stiffs.
